
2025 Scholarship Recipients
Congratulations to our 2025 OSU Department of Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences scholarship recipients!
- Marc Nickel is the recipient of the Multnomah Angler's & Hunters Memorial Scholarship. His interest is in fisheries management and biology, particularly freshwater and salmonids.
- Sophia Lopez was awarded the Chan Schenck Conservation Scholaship. She is currently working with macroinvertebrates to study freshwater stream and river water quality, and plans to pursue to pursue a master's degree and focus on youth outdoor education.
- Mathias Anderson was awarded the Bill Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship and is studying ecosystem restoration with a focus on birds.
- Molly Shannon received the Milt Guymon Endowment Award. In addition to her fisheries, wildlife, and conservation science major, she is pursuing minors in forestry & biology. She is presently researching juvenile Chinook disease research, and hopes to focus on wildfire effects on freshwater and anadromous fish.

Established in 1942, the Multnomah Anglers & Hunters Scholarship is the organization's classic scholarship and has been awarded to 63 recipients.

In 1989, we began honoring Channing "Chan" Schenck, former president and member from 1933 until his passing in 1974, with 38 students having received his namesake scholarship to date.

Also established in 1989, this scholarship has been awarded to 39 students to date and honors former president and member Bill Schaeffer.

Established in 1992, 16 students have benefitted from this scholarship honoring former president and member Milt Guymon.

Member Mikel Mapes is honored through his namesake scholarship, which was first awarded in 2005 and has been given to 12 students.

We have honored many other past members with memorial scholarships, including Larry Cassidy (5), William Bogh (4), Bernie Tanory (1), Bob O'Loughlin (1), Roy Davenport (1), Douglas Kelley (1), Valerie Waterman (1), and Wanda Campbell (1).
