The Bill Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship was established in 1984.
William B. "Bill" Schaeffer was a longtime member of Multnomah Anglers & Hunters and a passionate conservationist. He served as the editor of the Multnomah Anglers & Hunters bulletin, and he testified on behalf of Oregon sportsmen to the United States Senate to secure greater access to public lands for all lovers of the outdoors. He also served as public relations director for the Oregon Wildlife Federation. The Bill Schaeffer Memorial Scholarship is awarded annually to a sophomore student based on exemplary academic performance and involvement in community activities; the 36 worthy students listed below have received the award to date.
